OurMehfil was founded on Apr 10, 2008 as a Yahoo Group. The very first members were Rehman of Multan residing in USA and Manbir Singh residing in China. Although this group has curiously attracted many people from the cricket playing countries, our conversation ranges from everyday matters to the extraordinary. As one of our moderators aptly put it (Liju Benjamin, Bangalore, India):
"OurMehfil is a confluence of diverse and random thoughts and ideas seasoned with blithesome, mirthful banter."
Most members of OurMehfil are committed to establishing friendships with people from other cultures. We put ourselves in situations that will enable us to meet a variety of people. These are a few things we like doing a lot:
1. Listen to people tell their stories
2. Ask people questions about their cultures, customs, and views.
3. Meet people
4. Read about other people's culture's and histories
5. Risk making mistakes
6. Discuss cricket
