On 6th March 2011, I went With my Father to attend a marriage of his friend in a little small village of Desert Thar which was just few kilometer away from india border.
And also Visited the place, King Akbar ( Third Mughal Emperor) Castle , where he was Born. It was Really a awesome Visit

That was really a great trip with Father and 2 cousins. like watched historical places and the world famous Desert Thar. But some facts of thar peoples life were Astonishing . Each village is far away from other one. No basic facility of life , all the day they looks in search of water from for away water wells, or they store Rain water for daily usage. But people of Thar are simple, lovely and have Golden Heart ! |

WOW, Ahsan, absolutely fascinating! The birth place of one of the most inspirational, powerful and benevolant king of Hindustan! Alas what good he did were undone by the British and the politicians of Pakistan and India.
This is a wonderful post. Very interesting photography especially the boys out in search of water, indicating the severe paucity of water in those parts. And yet as you rightly say the people in Thar are wonderful!
I have several questions to this extremely interesting presentation:
1. Are the cannon-balls hollow or are they solid? Do you know why there is a hole:

Furthermore, what would guess the weight of these balls?
2. I am very intrigued by this sculpture:

This looks like a Hindu sculpture. Do you have any thoughts on why there was Hindu sculpture. Did Humayun have Hindu influence? What do the people over there have to say?
Thanks Rehman bhae !
These cannon-balls are hollow from inner side,1 inch thick layer was filled from explosive material inside, which carry these heavy cannon-ball (Couldn't guess their weight exactly, but i wasn't able to move from its original place !) to its target. this cannon-ball wasn't used as a explosive weapon, as it use to be fired from some place so due to weight and speed this ball was enough to break defensive walls, Naval ships etc.
I think you also know Rehman bhae that, Akbar king was the only king from Mughal Emperor who loved peace in his Empire. And he did all things for that. He also founded a new religions "Din-i-Ilahi" "Divine Faith" which primary elements were drawn from Islam and Hinduism mostly.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Din-i-Ilahi.
I think that was the main reason of Hinduism sculpture in his darbaar.
and 2008 a film released fron hollywood , "Jodhaa-Akbar" that movie script wa based on history i think, in whick Akbar the great, married a Hindi Women later on he allowed her for "Mander" in Darbaar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jodhaa_Akbar
make me Correct if any where i am Wrong Rehman bhae !
Just pure awesomeness mate.I shared fcbk for some of my mates to see it.
